Spain Cultural Center of Santo Domingo or as locals knows it: Centro Cultural de España Santo Domingo (CCESD) is a prominent cultural center situated in Santo Domingo’s Colonial City. Founded in 1990 by the Agencia Española de Cooperación Internacional para el Desarrollo (AECID), the center fosters cultural exchange and cooperation between Spain and the Dominican Republic. Each year, the CCESD offers a wide array of cultural programs, including over 150 activities and events, around 20 exhibitions featuring local and international artists, open-air concerts, lectures by renowned experts, film screenings, children’s activities, and free courses. The center plays a significant role in supporting the local artistic scene, promoting new talents, and advocating for cultural diversity. Over the years, it has developed strong partnerships with various public institutions, associations, cultural organizations, and NGOs to contribute to the strengthening of the cultural sector in the Dominican Republic.
